LITHONIA, Ga., March 28, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ — Debra Curry extends forgiveness to the young lady who murdered her son, Robert Taylor Curry III and shares her story in her new book, ‘Lifted from the Dust: A Journey of Faith, Forgiveness and Healing.’ It is a compelling story of overcoming heartbreak and adversity and turning tragedy into a message of hope and inspiration.
She is inviting the public to join her for a book signing April 2, 2016 from 12N to 3PM. The book signing will take place at North DeKalb Mall at the Sights & Sounds Black Cultural Expo Museum (near Ross). The address is 2050 Lawrenceville Highway, Decatur, GA 30033.
“Extending forgiveness is not easy,” admits Curry, “but it is something that God expects each of us do.” She refers to Mark 11: 24, 25 where Christians are instructed to forgive whatever they have against anyone in order for God to forgive them. Her struggle with forgiveness ended when God stepped in and changed her heart. The god-inspired change blotted out all of the hostility and resentment that once consumed her. toCurry added, “Lifted from the Dust also touches on childhood sexual abuse. Too many individuals are living with the pain of sexual abuse. Victims have suffered in silence for years. Victims have lived behind walls of shame, fear, and guilt for actions they had no control over. It’s time for victims to heal or at least start the healing process.” She is confident that both men and women can find a message of hope in the pages of her book.
“We all have a story to tell,” says Curry. “God moved me to tell my story now, to speak to the broken-hearted.”
“Lifted from the Dust” will inspire others to overcome adversity in their lives. The book can be purchased at liftedfromthedust.com.
