Seasons of Refreshing Winter
took me through wintertime not only in weather, but in soul. Weather can affect feelings, our plans, our thoughts. Yet weather cannot affect who our God is. He is the same all year around. My relationship with this God who is Truth always (no matter how I feel or what my circumstances are) is of upmost importance. When I look for a devotional book to use during my quiet times with the Lord, I seek one like Seasons of Refreshing Winter. The author writes simple, yet layered short reflections preceded by Scripture. They lead me to the Word where I spend time gleaning the wisdom God has placed there for my life. This is the kind of devotional I desire…a Scripture verse with an honest personal reflection that will prompt me into the Word and then to my own refections.
