The Two Doors
Gracie is seven years old, and she has a hurt place in her heart. When she wakes up in the middle of the night to find a door in her bedroom wall, a door where no door should be, she begins a strange and wonderful adventure into her own future. On the other side of the door, Gracie receives a rare gift: she gets to meet the woman she will become if she refuses to use the magical little Send-Away boat and begin to forgive the hurt that has been done to her. Go through the door with Gracie and find out how she answers the question, “Do you want to be Carissa? Or Mara?” (click on the book cover image to purchase a copy from the author)
About the author
Shelly Forgey is a wife, mother, grandmother, Bible Study leader, and former home school mom who has also been a college math teacher, math education consultant, church worship leader, musician, singer, and actress in community theater productions., She also loves to sew, quilt, and garden. Her interest in sending away offenses arises from two contexts: her personal experiences in that area, and her experiences as a volunteer counselor working with women in crisis centers. She has three grown children and three grandchildren. She and her husband Steve have been married for thirty years, and they live in Cookeville, Tennessee, with their dog Molly. It is her hope that the Gracie Books will give children strong internal patterns for dealing with pain from offenses so that they can live emotionally free and happy lives.
